Quiet Reverence

Quiet Reverence

There is a connection between us and everyone that came before us. The moon, those who came before us and the energy that continues to surround us are never as far away as they may seem. In a meditative or reverent state, that connection becomes quieter, but somehow stronger. Healing and loving energy begins to move between us, creating a circle where the past and present are no longer separate.

I painted this after returning home from spreading my Momma’s ashes. I wasn’t trying to explain grief or create a particular image. I simply allowed the colors, shapes and emotions to find their own way onto the canvas. Only later did I understand what I had painted. The moon, everyone who came before us and those of us still here, all connected by the same loving and healing energy. A circle that continues even when someone we love is no longer physically here.

Sometimes our art understands our hearts long before we do.
