Spirit Moves Within Me

Spirit Moves Within Me

I used my fingers throughout much of this painting, moving through the paint and allowing my own energy to guide where it went. There was no need to control every mark. I wanted movement, and I wanted the canvas to carry the energy of that movement.

As the colors began sweeping upward, the vortex emerged. To me, it feels like a channel, pulling and carrying energy through the painting. The spiral continues inward while everything around it seems to be moving toward it, through it and beyond it.

The flow of energy also connects me to those who came before us. The people we knew a thrones w never ha the chance to know. Their stories may be different from ours, but pieces of them continue forward through us.

Spirit Moves Within Me was created with movement at its core. I can imagine it living in a yoga or meditation space, an office or a home, anywhere that could use a sense of energy flowing rather than standing still. From ancestors known and unknown, you are part of greatness, always.
