Woman of the Water

Woman of the Water carries pure, ethereal feminine energy. Radiant, powerful and completely connected to the natural world, she moves the water around her like a ribbon, sending it sweeping across the landscape as though she could reach out and lasso the enormous sun resting on the horizon.

Whether the sun is rising or setting is left to the viewer. She exists somewhere between the two, in that magical space between endings and beginnings. Around her, the Earth comes alive through layers of color and heavy texture. A bird emerges from the landscape, drawn toward her radiant light, while the earth itself seems to desire the chance to be near her. Small details reveal themselves throughout the painting, inviting you to look closer and discover what else may be hiding within this world.

There is an ancient vibration running through this piece. Color, movement, texture and emotion come together in a place where woman, water, animals, earth and sky are not separate, but rather move as one living energy. She is not waiting for the water to carry her; she’s the one moving it.
